Book Review: The Missing Piece by Shel Silverstein

The Missing Piece is perfect for the under 3 month set. It has very few words, great sections that can be sung and simple line drawings that are easy for Elle to focus on. She sits on my lap and I hold the book in front of her. The only danger is that she may pull a muscle in her neck when she swivels her head around who is singing out of tune.

Her favorite part is the, “Hi de ho here I go looking for my missing piece”.

A very strong recommendation as a daytime or before bedtime book because the reader can either read with enthusiasm, or quietly hum for a more relaxing tale.

  1. Pull out "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" by Dr. Seuss and read that one! I apparently forgot: A) How incredibly long it is, especially late at night as a bedtime story; B) How silly it is! Madeleine's a big fan!!
